Our Picnic Winery tour near Barcelona is a very special tour for any kind of group. If you come with your couple, you can have a very romantic lunch or dinner between the vineyards, coming with friends or family is also fantastic because you are alone in the middle of the vineyards, you will not bother to anyone and you will be calm with your friends and family.

One of the Tapas that you eat on this tour is Tortilla de Patata, lots of our clients are asking us for the receipt to make it when they arrive home. For this reason, we want to share with all of you the Spanish Omelette receipt

RECEIPT TORTILLA DE PATATAS
Tortilla de patata (Spanish potato omelette) is a classic Spanish dish served either hot  or cold for breakfast, as a main course or in Spain, as a tapas bar snack, cut into small pieces or wedged between chunks of fresh bread as a filling in a “bocadillo”. It is delicious, very filling and perhaps a little fattening! Here is a simple recipe to make this tasty, traditional Spanish dish.

Ingredients

5 eggs
1 kg potatoes
extra virgin olive oil
1 onion (optional)
salt

Preparation

1. Peel and wash the potatoes and cut into thin slices. Heat enough oil in a frying pan and add the potatoes and a little salt. If you are adding onion, add it after the potatoes. The heat shouldn’t be too high, so that the potatoes and onions are cooked to perfection

2. When they start to turn golden move them away (from the heat), put them in a large colander. To avoid excess oil put them on a plate with absorbent paper. Meanwhile, beat the eggs and add the potatoes, mix well and add the salt.

3. Heat the frying pan again with two spoonfuls of oil to cover the bottom of the pan. Add the mixture of egg and potatoes and lower the heat. Move with circular movements so that the omelette doesn’t stick to the bottom of the frying pan.

4. When it starts to make bubbles this is because it has set, and that is when to turn it over. Use a flat plate, but you can use a straight edged lid. If necessary, put a little more oil into the frying pan before gently sliding the omelette from the plate to the frying pan, and move around again with circular movements. So that it sets well, turn it over a couple more times. Leave it to cool for five minutes.

Private Organic Oil Experience (Transfer Included)

Melanie was amazing! If I ever go back to Spain I am booking all my tours with her company. She has quaint and unique places to take you for super affordable prices, and mostly everything is private if you like. The Olive Oil Tour was great and informative. The property was beautiful, and I definitely recommend buying some chocolate bars (made with olive oil.)

Private Dalí Tour

AMAZING day with the wonderful Xavi, our tour guide. We arrived by train in Figueres and were wonderfully surprised with a visit and lunch at Dalis childhood home. Our hosts the Carbo family still live in the building and they have access to Dalí’s apartment and showed us all the spots where he painted. They then had us to their beautiful home for a delicious lunch and cava. They were the most welcoming, interesting and sincere family. It was the highlight of our trip. Xavi then took us to the Dali museum and finally we headed to Cadaques, one of the most beautiful places on the planet. It’s a gorgeous town on the Mediterranean where we visited Dalí’s adult home. Fascinating view into his unique sense of design. We ended with a quick drink on a beachfront restaurant in Cadaques. It’s a must see when in Barcelona!!! The tour was definitely the highlight of our trip and Xavi was the perfect guide!

Picnic Winery Experience in Alella

I did the picnic experience w/o transportation for two people at the Alella Vineyard with Discover Barcelona. We took a ~30€ taxi ride from Barcelona, directly to the vineyard. Pau was our tour guide and he took us through the vineyard and the cellar to show us how the wine was made, he was very knowledgeable and funny! Melanie organized everything and she was very prompt when replying to questions, her information was so helpful and straight forward. The experience was absolutely amazing. After the 30-45min tour, we were given a full basket of food and wine to enjoy a completely private picnic on top of the mountain overlooking the vineyards. You can stay at the winery as long as you’d like and purchase wine. Absolutely unforgettable experience. Would totally recommend!!!! The town of Alella is so wonderful too

Private Wine & Cava Tasting Tour in Penedes

Melanie at Barcelona Discovery went over the top to make suggestions and help me design a tour that was absolutely PERFECT for my group. It cost a bit more than some other options, but it was worth it to get an excellent custom-tailored experience with quality service and amenities. My friends and I have not stopped talking about it!

Private Wine & Cava Tasting Tour in Penedes

This was absolutely hands down the best part of my trip to Barcelona. Booked the Vineyard and wine tasting private tour with Barcelona Discovery for late October 2018. Melanie picked me up at hotel and drove me first to a gorgeous family run small production vineyard. The owner was gracious enough to provide the tour and the fascinating history behind the vineyard and the process of how they make their wines. Afterwards, had a taste of the four different kinds of wine. So good! After that Melanie drove me to the cava vineyard, where i was given a tour of the of the production, history and caves of where the cava is made, processed and stored. Such a cool thing to see! After we had 5 different cava tastings paired with some delicious bites. I ordered a bunch of wine from the first vineyard and cava from the second vineyard and Melanie helped me with some translations and the process of getting it shipped to my home in the US. Melanie from Barcelona Discovery was incredibly patient, never rushed any of the tours and even had a great conversation about Barcelona and the wine region we were driving too. Overall - it was a such a great experience and everyone should do this tour!

Picnic Winery Experience in Alella (Transfer Included)

We gave the tour of wineriy with the picnic to our friend's birthday - we were a group o 12 people. It was absolutely great experience - i thought it was the best choice we could make. The place is simply beautiful, the story behind the wineyard and actual wine making was very entertaining but also informative. After the tour were brought to a very special place in the wineyards where the picnic table was prepared for us with the selection of local products. Spending the evening in the middle of the nature, with incredible views which allowed us to see the sea and the ships passing by, incredible atmosphere - really nothing else to wish for. Melanie was great at organising everything. Very recommendable. Excellent gift idea too!
