Our Picnic Winery tour near Barcelona is a very special private tour from Barcelona, for any kind of group.

This is a private wine tour, that if you come with your couple, you can have a very romantic lunch or dinner between the vineyards. Coming with friends or family is also fantastic because you are alone in the middle of the vineyards, you will not bother anyone and you will be calm with your friends and family.

One of the Tapas that you taste on this private wine tour is Tortilla de Patata. Lots of our clients are asking us for the receipt to make it when they arrive home. For this reason, we want to share with all of you the Spanish Omelette receipt

RECEIPT TORTILLA DE PATATAS
Tortilla de patata (Spanish potato omelette) is a classic Spanish dish served either hot  or cold for breakfast, as a main course or in Spain, as a tapas bar snack, cut into small pieces or wedged between chunks of fresh bread as a filling in a “bocadillo”. It is delicious, very filling and perhaps a little fattening! Here is a simple recipe to make this tasty, traditional Spanish dish.

Ingredients

5 eggs
1 kg potatoes
extra virgin olive oil
1 onion (optional)
salt

Preparation

1. Peel and wash the potatoes and cut into thin slices. Heat enough oil in a frying pan and add the potatoes and a little salt. If you are adding onion, add it after the potatoes. The heat shouldn’t be too high, so that the potatoes and onions are cooked to perfection

2. When they start to turn golden move them away (from the heat), put them in a large colander. To avoid excess oil put them on a plate with absorbent paper. Meanwhile, beat the eggs and add the potatoes, mix well and add the salt.

3. Heat the frying pan again with two spoonfuls of oil to cover the bottom of the pan. Add the mixture of egg and potatoes and lower the heat. Move with circular movements so that the omelette doesn’t stick to the bottom of the frying pan.

4. When it starts to make bubbles this is because it has set, and that is when to turn it over. Use a flat plate, but you can use a straight edged lid. If necessary, put a little more oil into the frying pan before gently sliding the omelette from the plate to the frying pan, and move around again with circular movements. So that it sets well, turn it over a couple more times. Leave it to cool for five minutes.

Wine & Organic Oil Tasting Tour in Pla de Bages.

We had an amazing time on our Barcelona Discovery Tour! Definitely recommend the wine/olive oil tour and tour company. The communication setting up the tour was so easy. Melanie came to pick us up at our hotel and we drove through the beautiful Catalan region. It was a foggy day, but we were still able to see a little bit of Montserrat from the distance. Our first stop was a beautiful winery, where we had a private tour with Marisola. We learned about the history of the winery and their wine making process (both old and new). We had a tasting of some great wines and an impressive spread including cheese, meat, bread, tomato, pate, chocolate, etc to accompany our wines in one of the historic stone houses. The wines and the experience were great! One of the best vineyard tours we've been on. The wines were really good and we ended up buying some to take home. Our second stop was the olive oil tasting and tour. We had a private tasting and tour with Aena. We learned about the history of the olive orchard, what to look for in tasting, did a tasting, and then walked around the beautiful orchard. It was an awesome and new experience as we never did a olive oil tasting before. The olive oil was great and we ended up buying olive oil and chocolate for gifts. It was an awesome day! Thanks to Melanie, we could not have been more happy with our tour. Barcelona Discovery does an awesome job of partnering with great wineries, olive orchards, and different experiences. We had such a great time. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Spain!

Barcelona Gaudi Private Tour- Modernist Walking Tour

Marc was our tour guide for a tour of Gaudi, including the Sagrada Familia. Marc was knowledgeable and welcoming of all our questions. He showed great patience in answering our children's questions as well. We really enjoyed his company and the wealth of information he conveyed about Gaudi's greatest works. Thanks Marc!

Private Wine & Cava Tasting Tour in Penedes

Melanie was our guide for a Penedes cava and wine tasting tour. She was amazing! She was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. She and her driver picked us up from our apartment. We started with the cava tasting, which was very informative and interesting. We also enjoyed going into the vineyards before doing a wine tasting. We were traveling with children and they, too, had a "wine" (juice) tastings along with the adults. What I loved most about our tour, beside our lovely guide, was not feeling rushed. Melanie let us set our own pace and never mentioned a schedule. I was so impressed with the service that I decided to hire Barcelona Discovery for another tour to Sagrada Familia. I highly recommend this company for a more personal and specialized tour.

Private Organic Oil Experience (Transfer Included)

Melanie was amazing! If I ever go back to Spain I am booking all my tours with her company. She has quaint and unique places to take you for super affordable prices, and mostly everything is private if you like. The Olive Oil Tour was great and informative. The property was beautiful, and I definitely recommend buying some chocolate bars (made with olive oil.)

Private Dalí Tour

AMAZING day with the wonderful Xavi, our tour guide. We arrived by train in Figueres and were wonderfully surprised with a visit and lunch at Dalis childhood home. Our hosts the Carbo family still live in the building and they have access to Dalí’s apartment and showed us all the spots where he painted. They then had us to their beautiful home for a delicious lunch and cava. They were the most welcoming, interesting and sincere family. It was the highlight of our trip. Xavi then took us to the Dali museum and finally we headed to Cadaques, one of the most beautiful places on the planet. It’s a gorgeous town on the Mediterranean where we visited Dalí’s adult home. Fascinating view into his unique sense of design. We ended with a quick drink on a beachfront restaurant in Cadaques. It’s a must see when in Barcelona!!! The tour was definitely the highlight of our trip and Xavi was the perfect guide!

Picnic Winery Experience in Alella

I did the picnic experience w/o transportation for two people at the Alella Vineyard with Discover Barcelona. We took a ~30€ taxi ride from Barcelona, directly to the vineyard. Pau was our tour guide and he took us through the vineyard and the cellar to show us how the wine was made, he was very knowledgeable and funny! Melanie organized everything and she was very prompt when replying to questions, her information was so helpful and straight forward. The experience was absolutely amazing. After the 30-45min tour, we were given a full basket of food and wine to enjoy a completely private picnic on top of the mountain overlooking the vineyards. You can stay at the winery as long as you’d like and purchase wine. Absolutely unforgettable experience. Would totally recommend!!!! The town of Alella is so wonderful too
